Tondo Mobile-IQ Field App
IN-FIELD DEPLOYMENT
Tondo’s Mobile-IQ field configuration app provides a handy tool for lighting technicians to quickly provision Tondo-controlled lighting.
Lighting profiles are set up in advance in the Tondo Cloud-IQ CMS. Each Tondo controller contains a unique encrypted ID that is assigned to each customer.
When you connect a new Tondo controller, simply scan the QR code with Mobile-IQ, and the Tondo Cloud-IQ CMS will confirm whether it is an authorized device for the customer network.
If authorized, it will automatically exchange information with the controller – location, configuration, electrical connection quality, network data, and even the details of the luminaire, driver, and lamp it is connected to.
You can also use the Mobile-IQ app to:
- Add custom fields of data such as internal inventory codes, installing technician – anything the customer wants to track
- Test connections and lighting control
- Track devices serviced by each lighting technician
- Upload new configurations back to the Tondo Cloud-IQ CMS
The Tondo Mobile-IQ app is an Android-native app.

Tondo Product FAQ
Has Tondo deployed to large projects?
Yes. Tondo’s individual projects have exceeded 100,000 lamps.
Can we install Tondo CMS in a private cloud?
Can you create custom reports in Tondo's Cloud-IQ CMS?
What does Tondo mean by "plug and play"?
Once connected, a Tondo controller will query the type of lighting it is connected to, the sensors or devices connected to it, the GPS/GLONASS location data, and send that and the device information to the Tondo Cloud-IQ CMS and apply a default or custom profile to the device for automated configuration and instant operation.
How secure is a Tondo device and network?
Tondo’s controllers use the ARM Cryptocell 310 Security-on-Chip (SoC) that enables each device to be secured with a unique key so that a successful attack on one device does not compromise the network or other devices.
These keys are not stored in the controller firmware but are rather stored in a protected vault on the Cryptocell 310.
The Tondo SoC also secures over-the-air firmware updates (FOTA) so that an attacker cannot upload a corrupted firmware update to any device.
You can read more about the capabilities of the ARM Cryptocell 300 family at this link.
Does Tondo provide pre-sale support to partners?
Absolutely. Just choose one of the buttons on our website to get in touch, and we will work with designers, architects, and systems integrators on their projects and proposals.
Is Tondo looking for new distributors or channel partners?
Yes. We are looking for leading distributors, systems integrators, and channel partners who have great relationships with their customers and want to add the best Smart Lighting and Smart City IoT network solution to their line cards.
Contact us using the Contact Us button on this page, and let’s talk!
Does every Tondo controller need a cellular connection?
No. Tondo controllers connect with each other, and use any controller with the cellular (EGPRS or LTE 4G (which works across a 5G network) as a “gateway” to communicate with the Tondo Cloud-IQ Central Management Software (CMS).
This significantly reduces both device costs as well as the costs of cellular data communications.
Am I locked into a proprietary solution?
No. Tondo’s devices are based on established technology standards for connection (DALI, DALI2, D4i, ANSI C136.10, ANSI C136.41, Zhaga Book 18, MODBUS, Bluetooth 5 LE, EGPRS, LSI analog, and LTE 4G).
We are preparing for TALQ certification that will be an over-the-air firmware update to existing devices so that our customers can choose how to manage their Tondo-connected devices.
Tondo provides a documented API for integration with third-party software and custom software applications.
With Tondo, your investment – and data – is secure.
What happens if my cellular provider's network goes down?
Tondo devices will operate with their current profile stored in the firmware autonomously. Dimming and on/off operations are not depedent on an “always-on” cellular network connection.
Built-in sensor data is cached in the controllers until a connection is restored to prevent loss of data.
Any pending updates sent from the CMS will be updated when the connection is restored.
